New "School Shooting" commercial makes us look at ourselves.

I have never shot anyone. I have never threatened a school. So why am I teary eyed and guilt ridden after watching this new "school shooting" commercial? Maybe because we as adults are seeing a new norm for our kids in school. The sadness of knowing that their experiences will be under the shadow of death. Ours was a tornado drill of having to go out in the hallway and practice covering your head with the thickest book you could find. Theirs are bulletproof backpacks. I'm not getting into a political gun debate with this post to my blog but I am wanting you to feel the shame and sadness that I felt after I saw this commercial because this can't be the new normal for our children. It just can't be.
