(**NSFW**) "Boyz N The Hood" Gives A View Of A Community's Frustration.

The scene I posted above was one I saw in the theater when it was released in the 90"s. I remember this scene in the movie and the audience reaction to it. They laughed and I got mad at them for it. I got angry because the scene was in my opinion some of Cuba's best acting. He captured back then what it was and is like for a young black to be accosted by a perceived enemy and be totally helpless to it. To be angry and helpless at the same time is what this looks like. It's what it looked like last night in a lot of black households. The frustration of a good man who feels helpless and targeted at the same time and nobody seems to understand or care to try because it seems to most that he and what he represents, a young black man, needs to just listen to instructions when confronted by Police. This is somewhat true BUT we have to ask ourselves the question, "What happens when they do what they are told and they still end up dead?" Good Question. Do we March and protest? Do we as a community retaliate? Who gets that retaliation? An innocent person who has nothing to do with what happened? No. No one deserves to be punished for something they did not do or had no part in. Which is what someone needs to teach an entire police force of a nation all over again. I end this blog with a call to good police officers. Stand up against this and with righteousness. Help restore public confidence by checking each other when things cross a line. Hold each other accountable for their actions demanding the Honor and Integrity associated with the metal you wear on your chest. You as a department should be revered like the heroes you were hired to be and reminiscent of a Fire Department. Be known for saving lives instead of taking them and having to explain why on the back end of what appears more often than not a senseless Death. This is where you can help a community and yourselves out simultaneously. My Opinion.
