Summer is finally here, and as the weather continues to warm and the daylight stretches even later, it's the perfect season to spend quality time soaking in the sun outside with loved ones. And what better way to do that than with a picnic?
LoveFood searched around the country for the "most scenic picnic spots" in every state, gorgeous destinations to lay out a blanket, crack open a basket full of your favorite summertime treats, and enjoy a meal with friends and family.
According to the site, the top spot in all of South Carolina is Angel Oak Park on Johns Island. With views of the nearby wonder of the centuries-old Angel Oak, this place is the perfect backdrop for a memorable picnic.
Here's what the site had to say about this beautiful Palmetto State spot:
"Mossy, velvety live oak trees are as Southern as barbecue and charm, and South Carolina is rich in all three. Few trees, though, are as spectacular — or famous — as the Angel Oak, which shades around 17,000 square feet of grassy parkland and is believed to be around 400 years old. You can't spread your blanket right under the broad canopy, but there is a picnic area on the site, so you can enjoy your meal with an iconic view."
